    Job Summary
    This position is a contract period of 1 year, August 2019 – July 2020 with the possibility of converting to regular full-time instructor. First review of applications on January 21, 2019.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    1. Maintain compliance with the provisions of the College’s full-time faculty position description.
    2. Provide competent student advising.
    3. Provide effective and high quality instruction by continually evaluating and modifying curriculum so that it remains educationally sound and meets the high standards of the College.
    4. Plan and provide theoretical instruction, laboratory, and clinical experiences that reflect an understanding of the programs’ mission and outcomes. Monitor and evaluate instruction.
    5. Use technology in instruction to enhance student learning.
    6. Perform online instruction as assigned.
    7. Evaluate student achievement of curricular/program outcomes related to nursing knowledge/practice.
    8. Maintain a flexible schedule which is necessary in order to teach on any campus/outreach site at any required time including evenings, and/or weekends as assigned.
    9. Post and maintain teaching and office hour schedules.
    10. Participate in the integration of liberal arts and career/technical (occupational) education as assigned, including serving on campus-wide committees.
    11. Actively participate on all nursing program committees.
    12. Implement institutional, divisional, and departmental goals. Set and implement personal professional goals.
    13. Initiate and maintain professional relationships with external agencies, businesses and other educational institutions as assigned
    14. Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair or Academic Dean.

    Functional Attributes of Job Duty
    Minimum Qualifications
    1. Master’s Degree in Nursing.
    2. Hold a current license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Colorado, or demonstrate the ability to get reciprocity in Colorado to practice as a Registered Nurse.
    3. Two years of full-time (or equivalent) professional nursing clinical experience.
    4. Meet the health, CPR, and background check and drug screen requirements of the clinical agencies.
    5. Ability to obtain a full-time Colorado Post-Secondary Career and Technical Education Teaching Credential.
    6. Credential information can be obtained from the College Career and Technical Education office.
    7. Willingness to teach courses on weekends, evenings, and during summer terms as program needs require.
    8. Possess a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive, yet professional, interpersonal relationships with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and clinical affiliates in all areas of the College and community.
    9. Ability to work as a team member as exhibited by a genuine spirit of cooperation, flexibility, confidentiality.
    10. Demonstrated experience in alternative delivery methods or willingness to learn alternative delivery methods.

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Teaching experience at the Associate Degree Nursing level. Obstetric, Pediatric, Medical/Surgical, and/or Simulation teaching expertise.
    2. Experience working with student organizations, grant writing, and online teaching a plus.

    Work Hours 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday-Friday, with some weekends and evenings as required
